Title: Re-birth of Navyfield
Post by: Willdabeast on January 11, 2017, 07:22:09 PM
Hi gents, hard to know who still reads posts but NF is going thru a remake, bought out as I understand too. Perm-bans being lifted, multi acct. ok from single IP. Seems like the stability, HQ and other major sources of pain are being addressed, might be worth a look.

Cheers and Happy New Year.

No its not, don't believe their lies. All they are doing is their yearly cash grab.

Hard to believe, even thought I have mail on website about being multiIP banned yet I can log in normally. But still, unless they actually rewrite and recompile the game under modern version of MS system libraries, itīs still useless, cause it will continue to crash, not mention the continous, worse and worse sync problem, that would need rewriting of network code and even after, Iīm still not sure it would even be possible to get rid of completely.

Well I never totally quit, logged in occasionally to keep account updated/active. Once I am back home I plan on being online more and hopefully see another Jedi tag. Funny thing is I have played a few games last month and was asked by a few players what clan I belonged to.....

Cheers

Will

Everything is normal. 1 room open and full of useless retards.

Thatīs hardly gonna change when all non-retards quit ;D

I do check the game once in a while too. 1 room seems to be todayīs standard. 8)

Even if, and I stress if - they fix the issues to make NF a viable game again, including:

- Proper Windowed mode
- Proper mods/gm's
- Proper severs/no desyncs
- Gave full balance control to people that actually know what they are talking about (i.e. Rehor, not TNF)
- Sorted out the game economy
- Proper anti cheat

There is still one major problem they can't fix - that the only players still playing are shit, and there's barely anyone playing.

NF2 was a chance to fix the games issues and attract new players - they failed at that. Not wasting my time with them again.

I might give it a go for a bit, but they can sure as hell forget paying for anything.

World of Warships > NF1 and NF2

If I didn't have so many things I like to do, and a computer that wouldn't choke running it, I'd give it a try... but I do and I don't.

World of Warships > NF1 and NF2

Nope, not even closely, not as a hardcore game, not as what NF was 6-8 years ago(the sad todays decline only makes no truely viable option). WoWS is just what WoT and WoP are. Weak, flat, game for masses. With everything that it means. Game, where skill means basically nothing. Game, that is build so even the worst ever retard is able to do "something" and noone "uber" skilled can even appear as the random punishing system do not let him do so. Yeah, I know, NF ended like that too. But "World of ..." series started like that and thatīs worse.

NF had broken physics.  Broken armor system.  Broken configuration system.  Sub par graphics.  And crappy support.  How can you even compare?  The only reason NF was good for awhile was it was the only game available for warships.  It had a decent fleet system and the fleet leagues were good.  And we had fun as a fleet because of the fleet members...not so much the game.

WOWS lets you customize much more, physics work, angles and armor work, and now that they introduced fleets (clans), it will make competition much more enjoyable.

If both games were at their peak at the same time, I think it is safe to assume which one would have prevailed.

Yeah there is definitely some stupid shit about WoWS, but it's still light years ahead of NF. Best part about WoWS is no stupid subs. Worst update ever that officially killed NF for me.

Thatīs the only good part for WoWS, sadly. And yes, subs killed NF, the most retarded idea ever from $DE...

So, NF had broken everything. Funny.

WoWS? Physics? Where, tell me, Iīm interested? Armor? Joke. I can make shit of every ship with every ship(that stuff when destroyer sits in smoke killing battleship with itīs guns is almost unbelievable-just that one single thing makes Wargaming looks hundred times more retarded than whole $DE joined with their TNF team even was). Not mention that every ship is actually the same, so it matters jackshit, what u use. Not the stuff the original NF was about. Hell last I ched most of the ships had the same upgrades. U go on ony T6 BB and find 2 body upgrades. Dumb. Not mention it has nothing to do with actual configuration. In NF, u could even decide, what to mount on ship. With countless possibilities, even when some were retarded, they were possible.

Not sure what u mean by support. They have bunch of faggots on forums, that are just the same as faggots from TNF. And they do not listen to anything. They just ignore anyone and do the stuff they want to make as much cash as thay can, thatīs all. I really see no difference between that and $DE. Yeah and they can make u banned, just like $DE could. It will even eventually end as the same "joke" like banned Altsein/others on NF. Once being permabanned, after a while, not soo much. Etc...

Graphics means nothing to me. I tend to play games that are 15-20 or more years old, from times where the games were actually good and not shitty mainstream for faggots(that also counts for todays so called "indie" scene). Not mention the graphics of WoWS is not any good, just like WoW and WoP with that uber shitty, crap optimized engine with fucking flash Wargaming is using. And the 2D engine actually is way better for a tactics game, just like it always was for strategy games. No matter if real-time or turn-based. But WoWS is not a tactics game, WoWS is just FPS with ships, so itīs matter of what u want to play. Tactics, or FPS?

WoWS letīs u customize what? Some fucking flags and camo. That has no meaning in WoWS, not even speaking how worthless would that be in NF with ships so small it would not be visible. NF let u customize real stuff, guns, armor, AA. Yet they basically get rid of that even at NF2. Again, dumb $DE... If u actually think there is any sort of working physics in any Wargaming title, I kind of feel sorry for u... Maybe in that crap version of Master of Orion they made, which is uber bullshit compared to the original MoO1 and 2. But not in World of anything. There never was any physics and will never be. Their engine would explode if it had to actually count any real physics.

Really it makes me laugh listening from people that played NF for years how it utterly sucked and how great is Wargaming copy of Battlestations Midway/Pacific, without ability to fly planes. When NF was completely different type of game, itīs like comparing War in the Pacific from Matrix Games with Red Alert... Yeah, there is several millions of Red Alert players compared to few thousands maybe, but saying itīs a better strategy game as WitP? Nope.

I did play NF because it was different, because it was not a dumbed down mainstream title for masses that anyone and his dog can play. Cause NF really couldnīt, not before GB age. During the first few years, before $DE and several "balancing teams" fucked it up. It was a game that was build upon giving the best ability to do the best. Top skill lead to victory, itīs not the way games are build now. And it really is not the way how any World of anything is build. That is build for masses to do the same, always keep the same average. No matter what u do, game will make u do your average. Because itīs build on social engineering. All the content is made so no one can get high above average. No more Flamingpanda, Aodoxigen or others. Today, everything is based on constant big data analysis. No matter if u believe or not, even game splitting in Wargaming titles adapts to ur stats and makes it so when u win too much, uīll eventually getting statistically worse and worse players in team so they send u back to the average. It was possible to keep an eye on with some mods installed in WoT.

Itīs like playing Candy Crush Saga... After failing the room several times, u eventually win. Not because u got better by trying, but because the game statistics engine decided uīll get pissed off and stop playing, so it just "letīs u win" and continue. Maybe itīs sad, but itīs true.

I do hear his point though.

I could easily as a skilled player run over a team significantly easier in Navyfield. It was built for faster battles and that was apparent with only one skilled player in the room.

World of warships, I have face tanked and won 3 v 1's only to watch my entire team get slaughtered. At this point I'm so far away I can't help, and we lose.

Thanks for the heads up.

@ nethers I think it fair to say that there will be no "Re-birth" of NF.

It is dead.

Have a funeral or memorial service and move on.

Hi gents,

Just wanted to do an update for your info..

I have been steadily playing for a few weeks and I have to say the game is better. More players are online, seeing more and more old players so imo its going in the right direction. I am not touting the game as great and how it used to be but it has improved quite allot. Still things to address, stability is not the best (crash a few times every hr) and the trade system are not working (in game). That all said I am enjoying myself and shaking off the rust..

Cheers

Fairly active in the morning (eastern US time). I saw about 4 or 5 GBs up and 1 or 2 blitz. Sadly, that's the busiest I've seen it lately
